A beautiful tetras from Leontini with a superb blue-green patina

SICILY. Leontini. Circa 405 BC. Tetras (Bronze, 14 mm, 2.00 g, 2 h). ΛΕΟΝ Laureate head of Apollo to left; before, laurel leaf. Rev. Tripod with thee ring handles and legs ending in lion's feet; behind, lyre; to left and right, barley grain; in exergue, three pellets (mark of value). Boehringer pl. 13, 73. CNS III, 1/5. A very attractive piece with a superb blue-green patina. Minor corrosion on the obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.

Ex Nomos 13, 7 October 2016, 126 and previously from a collection in Ticino, formed in the 1990s.
